Simona Boni was born in Modena in 1975. She achieved her musical studies at the Conservatory ‘A.Boito' in Parma, attaining the Degree in guitar with the highest marks under the direction of Enrico Tagliavini. She attended the three-year specializing course held by Angelo Gilardino at the International Music Academy ‘L.Perosi' in Biella. She performed concerts as a soloist and in chamber formations, playing in several Italian towns as guest of renowned boards and musical associations. In 1997 she collaborated with the ‘Mlade Srdcia' orchestra in Bratislavia in the execution of the concerts of Vivaldi, with the instruments of the Master Lute Maker Renato Scrollavezza. In January 1999 she took part in the concert “Parma wears a music garment”, performed at the Regio Theatre in Parma. She has studied composition under the direction of Giorgio Tosi at the Parma Conservatory. Having graduated as Bachelor of Arts and Letters and musical subject with the highest marks and honours under the direction of Prof. Claudio Gallico, she engages herself both in the concert-activity and in studies and research. She has recently edited the revision of the works of Emilia Giuliani and Luigi Mozzani for the publishing house Berben in Ancona; she cooperates in the publication of historical-musicological articles and in the review of musical events with specialized magazines. She has recorded a Cd about the guitar works of Luigi Mozzani for the Classic Studio in Ancona. In 2003 she specialized and attained the Degree for the teaching of Arts and Letters and she at present teaches Letters and Latin in a Secondary high school.
